Our connection to the Ukraine comes starting more than 16 years ago.
My company at the time Globat.com did a partnership with the Ukrainian company TemplateMonster. It was a cool distribution deal where any of the TemplateMonster customers received free or discounted hosting with their template. As a results, I became good friends with David Braun who was the CEO of TemplateMonster.
Over the years, David would visit the US. I had built a house where there were several extra bedrooms so I'd always have entrepreneurs from all over the world. It wasn't something official, but everyone new they could come stay for a couple of weeks at any time. We had visitors from Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Argentina, Austria, Germany, England, The Philippines and all over the US.
